This week has brought a bit of a hiccup for our remake journey.
We’re diving deep into Death Wish 4 right off the bat (00:00:26). While this was supposed to be just part of our intro, true to form, RFN goes wherever the conversation takes us.
After what seems like ages focusing on a segment that helps newcomers put names to voices and update others on Jon’s (likely) absentee status, we jump into NEW BUSINESS! Greg starts things off with a brief update on Mario & Luigi: Brothership before steering the discussion towards the latest NSO release, Donkey Kong Land (00:13:38). James is back to his usual thoughtful antics with the fresh addition, KUUKYOMI 4: Consider It (00:31:04). These games, as similar as they get, never fail to offer some ridiculous entertainment. Guillaume wraps up his thoughts on Trials of Mana (00:39:54), concluding it’s a really great game, now also part of the Nintendo Black Friday sale. On a different note, he’s much less impressed with the Amazon series Like a Dragon: Yakuza (00:45:43). As for Jon, he’s bought Skyrim again (01:05:01), this time for the PS5, and yes, he’s playing it. He and James also have an interesting chat about strategies for buying vouchers for the eShop and Xbox Live – looks like game time is near for these two.
After a short break, the team comes together to compile a list of eight Nintendo DS games, two picks each, in order to decide on a title for The Nintendo DS 20th Anniversary Retroactive (01:15:27). Curious about what made the cut? Tune in and see.
Feed the beast!
As always, a special thanks to Guillaume Veillette for editing this episode. Our theme music, “Men of Leisure,” was crafted exclusively for Radio Free Nintendo by Perry Burkum – you can discover more of Perry’s work over on SoundCloud. Our logo is the creative handiwork of Connor Strickland, whose latest projects can be found on his website.
Wrapping things up, we have “More London Streets (Live)” from Professor Layton and the Unwound Future. Composed by Tomohito Nishiura and handpicked by James, this piece is a LEVEL-5 Inc. exclusive.
