Kratos’ voice actor, Christopher Judge, recently stirred up quite the buzz with what seemed like a teaser for a new God of War announcement. But hold on to your Leviathan Ax, because it seems there’s no such announcement on the horizon after all.
It might be hard to believe, but it’s already been a couple of years since God of War Ragnarok hit the shelves. Naturally, fans are on edge, eagerly anticipating news from Santa Monica Studio about their next project. Rumors began to swirl when Christopher Judge went live on Instagram. His comments sparked speculation that some big God of War news could drop within a couple of weeks, with whispers of something significant happening on December 1. “The next two weeks are gonna be chock-full of announcements and all kinds of good stuff,” Judge mentioned, hinting, “December 1st, we will be making a major announcement – which I can’t wait to do ’cause a lot of you asked me: ‘What’s coming next?'”
It’s no surprise that gamers started connecting the dots, hoping for a juicy tidbit from Sony about the beloved series. However, Judge didn’t specifically say anything about God of War, and as it turns out, these exciting announcements have no ties to the franchise at all. Jumping on Twitter to clear the air, Judge addressed the speculation head-on. “Absolutely not true!” he tweeted, debunking any notions of a God of War update. “You can’t tease something you know nothing about. I will be making announcements in the near future,” he assured fans, adding decisively, “I can guarantee none of them will be about OUR beloved God of War. I am awaiting updates just like everyone else.”
Indeed, there are announcements in the pipeline featuring Judge, but God of War content isn’t part of the lineup. While fans of Judge might be intrigued by what’s to come, God of War enthusiasts will need to hold tight and maybe revisit the existing games for now. Sorry folks, but that’s all there is for the time being – no Olympian-sized reveals, just yet.
