Anomaly is the latest extraction shooter unveiled by the creators of Swarm and is set to make its debut on Meta Quest this coming December.
Greensky Games, the minds behind Swarm and Swarm 2, have crafted Anomaly, a futuristic extraction shooter set in the gritty landscape of 2050. In this game, players find themselves in a hauntingly deserted city, navigating through three distinctive levels rife with dangers. The city is a battleground where players face off against rival squads and lurking monsters, all vying for a coveted Artifact that must be claimed and safely extracted.
In Anomaly, you have the flexibility to tackle the challenges on your own or to team up with friends in duos or trios. The game holds true to the core of extraction shooters—eliminate opponents, confront AI adversaries, gather valuable equipment, and make it out in one piece. If you fall in the line of duty, you lose everything you’ve gathered, adding to the stakes.
Peter Le Bek, the founder of Greensky Games, shed some light on what inspired Anomaly. “With Anomaly, we’re taking the essence of extraction shooters like Tarkov and Hunt: Showdown and amplifying it. It’s not just about the action—it’s about the atmosphere, and the thrill of escaping, the fear of loss. This is an extraction shooter built for VR where every match has its own pulse, making you feel each breath, each step, and each decision with a level of intensity that traditional games can’t match,” he stated.
For those eager to dive in before its official release, there’s a Closed Beta currently happening. Interested players can join in the action by signing up now. Get ready to experience Anomaly when it officially hits the Meta Quest Store in early December.
