HoYoverse seems to be building anticipation for the release of Sunday and the much-discussed Tingyun – fondly dubbed Fugueyun or Deadyun by fans in the know. Yet, as we wait for these characters to drop in Honkai Star Rail, they’ve already begun to hint at what’s coming in HSR 3.0. The first to emerge from this wave of teasers is The Herta, a new 5-star version of the puppet character that’s been with us since the beginning. She’s keeping the same icy path and erudite element that her 4-star counterpart had, but with some serious style upgrades. It’s got everyone talking.
But there’s more to be excited about—a lot more. Meet Aglaea, the 5-star Dressmaster from the novel Amphoreus, which is set to be the next big locale in HSR 3.0. This revelation serves as our first real hint of what Amphoreus will offer. Interestingly, Aglaea is aligned with the path of Remembrance, and this tantalizing tidbit was revealed just like that—in her character art, nonchalantly dropped on a Twitter post on a typical Tuesday evening. No big announcements, just a casual heads up that Remembrance is joining the fray.
Those who’ve been following along closely might not be too surprised by this. Given HoYoverse’s recent spotlight on Erudition, especially with the tease of 5-star Herta in the last update, I initially thought Erudition would dominate the scene on Amphoreus. However, after chatting with a friend who reminded me about Black Swan’s impactful role in HSR 2.0 and the significant conversations around Fuli and The Remembrance, it’s clear that HoYoverse had this all planned from the start.
How exactly Remembrance will function remains a bit of a mystery. In Herta’s Simulated Universe, Remembrance blessings have been tied to cool effects like freezing and specific freeze-centric debuffs. Any Ice-aligned character can trigger a freeze when breaking an enemy, regardless of their path. Unlike other paths, which are broadly defined by playstyle—like Harmony’s support role, or Abundance’s focus on health—Remembrance’s niche nature seems curious, especially for an Electric character like Aglaea.
To sum it up, prepare for the unexpected—it seems likely we’ll see a shake-up in the meta. Perhaps it’ll involve some of the summons Star Rail leakers have been hinting at over recent months.
Honkai Star Rail 3.0 is set to roll out around January 14, 2025. In the meantime, if you plan on new character pulls, it might be wise to update your knowledge on Acheron and Aventurine, and snag a few HSR codes if you’re after some freebies.
