There’s a new teaser trailer for Alien: Earth out now, and while it doesn’t reveal much, we at least have a release window to look forward to.
It feels like with each sneak peek of Alien: Earth, we’re no closer to actually seeing the full series. The first teaser mostly highlighted the iconic Alien against an earthly backdrop, and this latest one, released earlier today, barely adds anything new. Essentially a remix of the original, it features a familiar shot of the Earth mirrored in the xenomorph’s glossy black dome. There’s also a voiceover that delivers a quirky joke: “In 2120, mother Earth is expecting.” Expecting what, you ask? The punchline, of course, is it’s an alien—a bit of a cheeky nod to human pregnancy that might seem at odds with the series’ typically dark atmosphere. But then again, I’m not in marketing, so what do I know?
The rest of the teaser is a series of glitchy flashes of alien-like visuals, none definitively showing the Alien we know, along with a scream for good measure. While it doesn’t unveil much, one thing it does clarify is the release timing: Alien: Earth is slated to debut in the summer of 2025 on Hulu. Previously, we only knew it would come out next year, so it’s nice to have a narrower timeframe. Until a full trailer and exact release date drop, we wait in anticipation. If you’re in the UK or elsewhere, it’s likely it’ll show up on Disney+, providing you deactivate the family-friendly filter.
The Alien franchise has been on a roll lately, with the recent film Alien: Romulus faring well enough to earn a sequel. We might also see another crossover with Predator, as that series is experiencing a resurgence—Badlands, the next Predator installment, is due out next year and promises to push the boundaries with its storyline.
