Exciting news for gaming fans: Final Fantasy 14 is making its way to mobile devices. That’s right, soon you’ll be able to dive into this epic RPG/MMO on your phone, conveniently from wherever—even the comfort of your bathroom—without dealing with the hassle of dragging your entire gaming setup along.
This announcement arrived through an impressive video featuring Naoki Yoshida, the game’s director and producer, alongside a glimpse of the trailer. The mobile adaptation is in the capable hands of Lightspeed Studios, a Tencent affiliate known for handling mobile versions of large-scale games like PUBG Mobile.
Yoshida expressed that, despite the necessary modifications for mobile, Lightspeed Studios is pouring heart and soul into preserving the story, quests, and battle content of the original game. He hopes that both long-time FFXIV fans and newcomers will be eager to experience this new rendition.
As detailed on the brand-new Final Fantasy 14 Mobile website, players will initially have access to nine of the game’s iconic jobs. Additionally, classic activities like fishing, chocobo racing, and Triple Triad will be included. The launch will also introduce 11 crafting and gathering professions for enthusiasts, be they fishers, alchemists, or miners. Plus, there’s home customization for players with a knack for interior design yearning to express their creativity.
The site boasts that the mobile version retains the game’s stunning visuals, complete with intricate weather and time systems that feature over 600 weather patterns across different landscapes. Character and equipment designs have been meticulously crafted to match the original’s level of detail.
You can immerse yourself in the world of Eorzea solo or with friends. Whether you’re teaming up with seasoned players or making new allies from chance encounters, the spirit of adventure and camaraderie remains at the game’s core. Explore, share joy, and strengthen bonds in your quest to enrich Eorzea. Just make sure you have toilet paper at hand when embarking on your at-home adventures!
While a precise release date hasn’t been announced, the game will launch first in China, with a worldwide release to follow shortly thereafter.
