Helldivers 2 has everyone buzzing about its Democracy Space Station these days, which makes sense since the game’s latest directive focuses on using it to aid in liberating planets. However, it’s a bit amusing that this mission rolled out while all of the DSS’s special abilities are on cooldown, meaning they’ll be unavailable for some time.
Quite a few players might actually be relieved that it’s temporarily out of commission, considering the DSS’s orbital barrages accidentally took out quite a few helldivers late last week. Arrowhead was quick on the draw, working on some fixes, so fingers crossed that the next round won’t be as hazardous for the Super Earthers.
In this new mission objective, players are tasked to “wield the newly-operational Democracy Space Station to turn the tide against our enemies” by capturing more planets than they lose over the next five days or so. All sounds good in theory, but as some Redditors highlighted, the order came at a time when all three DSS special abilities are in cooldown mode.
At the moment, the orbital blockade should come back online in about fifteen hours, unless something changes. The eagle storm will take roughly a day and 14 hours, while those orbital barrages are on hold for a full three days and 14 hours.
On the bright side, since the mission has just over five days left, there’s ample time to utilize these abilities before it wraps up, given it doesn’t seem to be the kind of order players can complete too quickly.
Some players believe, especially concerning the orbital barrages, that Arrowhead might be making sure everything functions smoothly once they’re back online. However, these lengthy cooldowns on DSS capabilities are ruffling some feathers. Many hope Arrowhead will reduce the waiting times or introduce additional DSS features to bridge the gap between the major abilities soon.
