Developers at Pocket Pair are gearing up to shake things up in Palworld with an eagerly anticipated major update set for December 2024. This latest addition marks the most extensive and ambitious map expansion the game has seen since its debut.

Over on Twitter, Pocket Pair unveiled that December will bring a new island, described as the “largest, harshest, and most mysterious” addition to Palworld to date. This impressive new map is reportedly six times the size of the Sakurajima map introduced in June. While full details are still under wraps, teaser images hint at the exciting new environments awaiting players, such as lush, crystal-studded caves and vibrant, golden forests.
For those eager to get their hands on Palworld before the update, there’s currently a 25% discount across all platforms, but it’s only available until December 3, 2024. There’s plenty more to look forward to beyond the new island, including fresh Pals, arenas, weapons, items, cosmetics, and possibly a few unexpected surprises if past updates are any indication.
Looking beyond December, fans have even more to anticipate. Pocket Pair has teased a crossover with Terraria, another beloved sandbox game, setting both player bases abuzz with excitement. Yet, with such a significant update closing out the year for Palworld, it seems unlikely that this crossover event will roll out before 2025.
