Rebecka Coutaz, who has been the general manager at DICE, is now taking on an additional role as the head of UK-based developer Criterion.
According to a report by GI.biz, Coutaz will now serve as the Vice President and General Manager of Battlefield Studios Europe. Criterion, which has been a key contributor to EA’s Battlefield series since the release of Battlefield 1 in 2016, will continue its work on the franchise alongside the teams at Motive and Ripple Effect in the US.
Coutaz began her journey with DICE in November 2021 as VP and GM, having previously led Ubisoft’s Annecy studio. It’s a tremendous honor to step into this expanded leadership role, steering the future of two prestigious studios with such rich histories.”
She went on to express her vision, stating, “DICE and Criterion have been trailblazers in the European gaming landscape. I’m eager to empower these teams to push the envelope and innovate to enhance the player experience. By combining our creative forces, along with others at Motive and Ripple Effect, we aim to elevate the Battlefield franchise on a global scale. It’s an exciting era for us as we carve out the future of Battlefield, and I’m eager to welcome passionate individuals to join this adventure.”
