Treyarch recently resolved an elimination count issue affecting the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Hit List event. Since eliminations are essential for this event, accurately displaying them is crucial. After a quick investigation, the developers managed to resolve the problem.
The Hit List event for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 kicked off on November 21 and will go on until December 4. Players are challenged to earn eliminations in Warzone, Black Ops 6 Multiplayer, and Zombies. These eliminations unlock Skulls, which can be exchanged for various rewards like a Weapon Charm and Calling Card. There are community-level rewards too, and the big prize—a Sirin 9MM Secondary Weapon—requires hitting 50 billion eliminations. After a quick investigation, the issues causing incorrect elimination displays were resolved.
The CODUpdates Twitter account flagged a glitch with the Hit List event showing a cap at 25 billion eliminations. Despite this, the backend continued to track the correct totals, which meant player progress was unaffected during the investigation. They also shared a Trello board with insights into this and other issues, such as mantling speed issues, display problems with the Dark Ops Calling Card, and melee weapon glitches in custom classes.
A fix for the Hit List event issue was rolled out soon after it was identified, spotlighting Treyarch’s ability to swiftly solve event-related problems. Even after the cap at 25 billion, players surpassed the goal for several rewards, including the Hand Cannon Scorestreak and possibly the Veteran Perk. Given the event’s quick progress and its end date in December, it seems likely that players will unlock all community rewards.
Although the Hit List issue seems resolved and addressed via a hotfix, it didn’t require an update for players. With ongoing updates to Black Ops 6, it’s expected that Treyarch will address the other known issues in upcoming patches.
