Pizza Hut has blended the seemingly unrelated worlds of delicious pizza and console gaming with the introduction of the PIZZAWRMR. This nifty gadget is crafted to perch atop your PlayStation 5, keeping your pizza warm while you dive into your gaming adventures. Interestingly, this isn’t something you can buy off the shelves or expect as a prize; Pizza Hut Canada has generously shared the 3D printing files for free. All you need to do is sign up, download, and you’re ready to tweak and print your very own.
Taking design cues from the iconic red roof of the famous pizza chain, the PIZZAWRMR opens up like a laptop for easy access to your pizza slices. It’s quite spacious—enough for several slices. The clever bit is how it channels the hot air from the console to warm your pizza, a demonstration of what Pizza Hut calls “science and engineering for the greater good.”
Inside the downloadable package are STL files and a detailed PDF guide, courtesy of Pizza Hut Canada. You’ll find blueprints for different parts like the body, stands, lid, and manifold. Just a heads-up, the design is tailored specifically for consoles with rear vents measuring 11.7 x 1.31 inches. Your 3D printer needs a minimum bed size of 15 x 15 inches, which excludes most of the popular 3D printers unless you’re okay with splitting the model into sections. Think along the lines of an Elegoo Neptune 4 Max, a Prusa XL, or an Elegoo Orange Storm Giga.
But hold on, there’s one little caveat to keep in mind: crumbs and grease are real threats to your PS5. Pizza Hut wisely suggests using a 34 x 23 x 2.5 cm foil tray inside the warmer to keep everything tidy and clean.
You might wonder why they talk about dimensions in centimeters—could be a nod to their Canadian roots. Pizza Hut’s tip is simple: fire up a game to get the PIZZAWRMR toasty, then pop in some pizza slices. Their medium-sized pizza slices are just perfect for this.
Remember the buzz in 2020 when KFC rolled out their KFConsole, initially conceived as a joke? It eventually became a full-blown Intel NUC-powered console complete with a fried chicken warmer. Fast food brands dabbling in gamer-centric gadgets isn’t a fresh marketing tactic but it’s always intriguing to see these fun side projects come to life.
