Have you ever paused to ponder just how much you’re saving as a PC player with a PC Game Pass subscription? If you’re anything like me, the curiosity might have crossed your mind. Well, the figure is indeed impressive. In 2024, the total value of games added to the service hovered just shy of $5,000.
Jamie Hore over at PCGamesN crunched the numbers for us, tallying up the 137 games introduced throughout 2024. By calculating their market price when added, the total came to a whopping $4,812.63. To put that in perspective, a full-year subscription to PC Game Pass sets you back about $143. That amounts to some serious savings.
Of course, there are a few disclaimers to bear in mind. This calculation assumes you’re eagerly downloading every single game as soon as it’s available. Plus, the savings only count for games you actually play. Personally, even if Starfield is $30 cheaper, you’d need to offer me significantly more to jump into it.
Yet, this data is a strong testament to Game Pass’s potential for savings. The numbers are eye-opening, and the full breakdown is available in the PCGamesN article. April, in particular, stood out with 17 new titles joining the library, five of which were day-one releases. Meanwhile, December fell a bit short with six games, though it still offered a potential $214.94 in savings. That’s nothing to sneeze at, even in a quieter month.
Does this information shift your perspective on the PC Game Pass? Are you feeling more inclined to hit that subscribe button or regretting not doing so earlier? Or perhaps you’re content sailing your remote seas, a digital pirate at heart. Share your thoughts with us!
