You’ll have to defeat these hostile Synths in battle, and once victorious, you can unlock them as playable characters. Each Synth brings its unique abilities to the table, enhancing both combat strategies and your exploration of the world around you.
Imagine unlocking these Synths as your newfound allies and leveling them up by using them in battle. Every Synth has its own progression path across five levels, offering distinct bonuses that elevate their capabilities. However, earning experience becomes increasingly challenging as your Synths advance, so it’s wise to swap them out regularly. This approach ensures you’re maximizing your team’s potential and steadily unlocking a range of abilities.
Take, for instance, the “Psitek” Synth. Initially, it can light torches, but once it hits level three, it gains the ability to obliterate projectiles with its fiery slash—an invaluable skill in specific dungeons. Most of its bonuses focus on combat, which means you might benefit from switching to another Synth if you’re eager to unlock fresh abilities with fewer experience requirements.
Early on in your journey, you’ll stumble upon a boat that’s been left behind by the scientists—a handy vessel for your explorations! The Genesis Archipelago brims with small islands teeming with hidden treasures, ranging from extra hearts to items that boost stats and currency for shopping. If exploration isn’t your cup of tea, you can skip the nooks and crannies and head straight to the main islands to confront the scientists and halt their dubious operations.
Main islands are home to boss-level Synths, though many optional islands also house them. Capturing all 40-plus Synths presents a hefty challenge, but every corner of the Genesis Archipelago promises rewards to those willing to seek them out.
