Intel’s XeSS 1 technology has now found its way into more than 150 game titles, with the newer XeSS 2 just beginning to make its mark. This marks a significant milestone for Intel as they continue to expand their presence in the gaming world.
Originally, Intel introduced this super-sampling technology with their first discrete GPU series, the Arc Alchemist. Although it’s been two years since XeSS made its debut, the technology has undergone continuous improvement, leading us to the current version, XeSS 2.
While XeSS 2 hasn’t become mainstream yet, the early versions of XeSS have been successfully integrated into a wide range of games, tallying up to over 150. Intel recently celebrated this achievement and hinted that more titles equipped with this technology are on the horizon.
For those eager to see which games leverage XeSS, there’s an extensive list featuring several renowned triple-A titles. However, XeSS still has some catching up to do when compared to AMD’s FSR and NVIDIA’s DLSS technologies.
On their official Twitter account, Intel’s gaming division shared their excitement: “We’ve hit the mark on 150+ games with #XeSS support, with more on the way! 👾Experience peak gaming for yourself with Intel XeSS AI upscaling today.👾”
Despite reaching this milestone, Intel acknowledges the road ahead is challenging as they strive to compete more aggressively with AMD and NVIDIA. Most games in the current lineup support XeSS 1 and its updates. Yet, XeSS 2 is still in its infancy, with only two games, F1 2024 and Marvel Rivals, offering support for it. However, the future holds promise, with titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Killing Floor 3 slated to incorporate this latest technology.
In addition to these developments, some games have adopted Intel’s XeSS Frame Generation, although its availability is limited when compared to FSR and DLSS Frame Gen methods. Furthermore, XeSS 2 and its Frame Generation can only be utilized with Intel’s Arc Battlemage GPUs. Currently, only two models—Arc B580 and Arc B570—are on the market, but their availability remains sparse.
