Nintendo has openly stated that having exclusive games will be a key element when they release the Nintendo Switch 2.
This insight came about when a shareholder inquired about the continuation of new game releases for the current Nintendo Switch, even after the launch of its successor.
Responding to this, Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, shared, “We’ve already revealed upcoming titles like Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which are slated for the Nintendo Switch in 2025. With so many people still enjoying the Switch, we’re keen to keep developing captivating software, so we plan to continue bringing out new games.”
However, he added, “When it comes to introducing new hardware, exclusive games play a pivotal role. Bearing this in mind, we’ll explore various strategies to make sure both Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 entice a wide range of players.”
Eager fans can get more details on the forthcoming console during the Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 presentation, set to air at 6 am PT / 9 am ET / 2 pm BST / 3 pm CEST on Wednesday, April 2.
