Schell Games and Innersloth have some exciting news for fans of “Among Us.” They’ve announced that players will soon be able to enjoy the game in a new way with flatscreen support for “Among Us VR” (2022). With this update, the game will now allow for crossplay between VR and PC users, enhancing the experience for everyone involved.
In another thrilling development, the game is getting a makeover and will soon be known as “Among Us 3D.” This means PC players can now experience the popular game in a first-person perspective, a fresh twist for those who’ve been enjoying the classic top-down view.
According to Schell Games, “Among Us 3D” will enable PC players to join cross-platform lobbies with VR users on any compatible platform, which includes devices like Quest, SteamVR, PSVR 2, and Pico headsets. However, it’s important to note that “Among Us 3D” won’t be compatible with the 2018 original “Among Us,” as that version has remained unchanged since “Among Us VR” debuted last November.
Ryan Hall, the Project Director at Schell Games, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “With ‘Among Us 3D,’ we’re thrilled to bring the first-person perspective to a broader audience. By bringing together VR and PC players, we’re creating even more opportunities for devious fun—your entire crew can join in on the mischief!”
The transformation to “Among Us 3D” is expected to roll out in the coming months, with updates planned for store pages, websites, and the game’s branding. Additionally, the game will introduce a new in-game currency, “Stardust,” which players can use to buy cosmetic items. This addition looks set to enhance gameplay and promote further development.
No official release date has been announced yet. However, fans should keep an eye out, as “Among Us 3D” will be part of Steam Next Fest, providing players with a special early demo experience before its full launch.
