Apple is stepping up its game by bringing its Apple Intelligence suite of AI tools to Vision Pro this April, alongside the public launch of visionOS 2.4. However, those eager to jump in can already start experimenting if they have developer mode activated.
Vision Pro users will soon have access to the same cutting-edge AI features launched on iOS and Mac back in October. Expect to see writing assistance, AI-created images, smart replies, effortless natural language search in Photos, concise AI summaries, and personalized emojis. Vision Pro takes these features up a notch as it primarily depends on voice and hand gestures for text input, enhancing user interaction significantly.
Alongside these enhancements, the upcoming update introduces improvements to Guest User mode. Now, you can share your Vision Pro experience with others more seamlessly by using a nearby iPhone or iPad. It aims to simplify the usual complications of guiding someone through the headset experience, eliminating the typical “tap this, no, not that” scenario that XR users often find themselves in.
Another exciting feature arriving with the 2.4 update is the Spatial Gallery. It’s an impressive selection of spatial photos, immersive videos, and entrancing panoramas curated from talented artists, filmmakers, and photographers. This new feature will be available to users across several countries, including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, the UAE, the UK, and the U.S.
Furthermore, Vision Pro will boast even tighter integration with iOS when visionOS 2.4 hits the shelves. With the debut of iOS 18.4, users will be able to smoothly queue app and game downloads, explore spatial content, and access device details using a fresh Apple Vision Pro iOS app.
Initially, this 2.4 release with Apple Intelligence will cater to U.S. English users, but Apple promises more features and broader language support as the year progresses.
Even though April is the expected launch period, there’s no specific date yet. However, developers can get an early taste now with the developer beta of visionOS 2.4. If you’re a developer itching to dive in, head over to Settings, tap on Privacy & Security, switch on “Developer Mode,” and restart Vision Pro to start exploring.
