New Patch Notes Unveiled for Stardew Valley’s Switch Update

Just in time for the game’s ninth anniversary, developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has rolled out a shiny new update for Nintendo Switch users, packed with perks and fixes. Fans anxiously awaiting the new physical deluxe edition for the Switch just received a little something extra to celebrate.

Even as he focuses his efforts on Haunted Chocolatier, Barone remains steadfast in supporting Stardew Valley. This dedication suggests that updates might keep blossoming for another 50 years. In collaboration with Fangamer, the team launched a deluxe edition for the Switch, following it up with what’s arguably one of the game’s significant updates — version 1.6.15.1.

Landing on February 26, this update introduces a host of platform-specific performance enhancements to the Nintendo Switch. Among the more playful additions is the Junimo bundle button appearing in fridge and mini-fridge Uls, and notably, an uptick in daily roe production from legendary fish ponds. Players will also appreciate the adjustment that ensures no fish are lost if they pass out during fishing.

But that’s not all! ConcernedApe has sprinkled some surprises with new Easter eggs for sleuthing gamers to uncover and has expanded on spouse reactions during interactions beyond the usual dialogue. The language experience has also been fine-tuned with improvements in French, Russian, Hungarian, and Japanese, making sure that native speakers have more to enjoy.

For those on the Xbox and PlayStation, the update wasn’t far behind, as they received the 1.6.15.1 patch back on February 12, bringing them to the same level as the PC version. Looking forward, 2025 promises even more Stardew Valley updates. While a Haunted Chocolatier release date might not be on the horizon just yet, smaller announcements could be in the mix, guiding fans with a steady stream of content to tide them over.

The latest patch tackles an array of fixes: from addressing the infamous Joy-Con and Pro Controller rumble issue to solving rare crash problems, ensuring a smoother gaming experience. Notably, Stardew Valley players can now retrieve otherwise lost items in the enchanting secret woods, adding yet another whimsical element to this beloved game.
