Hello Games is at it again, rolling out another update to No Man’s Sky that specifically targets those pesky bugs. Patch 5.58 aims to smooth out the gameplay experience for the avid community still exploring the universe in 2025.
Since its launch in 2016, No Man’s Sky has seen a barrage of updates, each one enhancing the game. The game famously overcame a shaky start with continuous improvements and expansions. Early in 2025, the Worlds Part 2 Update dropped, adding a wealth of fresh content and improvements. Alongside these major updates, Hello Games diligently releases smaller patches to keep the game running seamlessly for everyone.
Now, let’s dive into the meat of what the latest patch offers. Dropped on March 4, the patch first came to Steam, with other platforms to follow soon. Known as patch 5.58, this update addresses various glitches, like the annoying bug where Sentinel Walkers wouldn’t spawn, and fixed issues with the starship customizer that impeded color variations of Solar ships.
In detail, the patch resolves a myriad of other problems causing headaches for players. It addresses glitches that had players unexpectedly floating to the surface when swimming on moons, squashes some visual bugs affecting game environments, and targets platform-specific issues. Additionally, it addresses several crashes and a particularly frustrating softlock on a derelict freighter.
This patch is just the latest chapter in Hello Games’ ongoing commitment to improving No Man’s Sky. Following a similar update in February, it’s part of their effort to listen attentively to player feedback, with more patches expected before the next major content update.
The future holds exciting developments for No Man’s Sky fans, as Hello Games has hinted at further plans for this now nine-year-old game. Meanwhile, development for Light No Fire is also progressing, with more announcements expected later in 2025. It’s a thrilling time to be a fan of Hello Games.
