The gaming world is buzzing with the latest update on NVIDIA’s upcoming graphics cards. News has come in that the release of both the GeForce RTX 5060 series GPUs will be pushed back a bit. Originally, these were slated for a March release and supposed to hit the shelves in April, but it seems we’ll have to wait a little longer. Board partners have been informed of this shift, though NVIDIA has yet to officially confirm any dates themselves.
As latest reports hint, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is anticipated to hit the market by mid-April, with the RTX 5060 following a month later in mid-May. This holds true for both the 16 GB and 8 GB versions of the RTX 5060 Ti, even though exact launch dates remain under wraps. All NVIDIA’s partners are in the loop regarding this internal update.
Interestingly, these delays could align the NVIDIA releases with AMD’s own schedule for the supposed RX 9060 series. AMD is bringing out the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060 models, featuring both 8 GB and 16 GB options, which would go head-to-head with NVIDIA’s offerings. Although no official word is out about when AMD plans to unveil its new cards, the rumor mill points to a potential release in the second quarter of the year.
Looking into the specs, the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is set to be a powerhouse successor to the RTX 4060 Ti, boasting 4608 CUDA Cores, GDDR7 VRAM available in both 8 GB and 16 GB configurations, and a TDP of 180W. Meanwhile, the RTX 5060 is expected to succeed the RTX 4060 with 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. Interestingly, there have been leaks suggesting a 12 GB variant of the RTX 5060, but nothing is official yet. If it does materialize, this could give NVIDIA the upper hand over AMD’s new cards, which are likely to launch only in the 8 GB variant.
We’ll have to stay tuned to see how this competition unfolds as these new generation GPUs battle it out head-to-head on the market. With both NVIDIA and AMD preparing for their big reveals in the upcoming months, gamers should prepare for exciting times ahead.
