Treyarch has unveiled the eagerly anticipated “Shattered Veil” map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, and gamers can dive in a little sooner than expected. Activision initially planned to drop the Season 3 content for Black Ops 6 on April 3, following a delay from late March. However, they’ve generously moved up the release to April 2 for both multiplayer and Zombies mode. As for those eager to revisit Verdansk in Call of Duty: Warzone, keep those fingers crossed until April 3.
The new map adds fresh twists to the ongoing Dark Aether saga, introducing players to a mysterious mansion nestled in the lush, forested hills of West Virginia’s Liberty Falls. This venue might ring a bell for those familiar with the Liberty Falls cinematic. The mansion doesn’t just offer eerie vibes; it also comes equipped with innovative zombie traps, such as a microwave device to fry the undead and a Dark Aether Field Generator that disintegrates zombies.
Inside, players might get startled by the T-Rex skeleton standing tall as part of the decor. But defeating the hordes becomes easier with the help of new enemies like the Elder Disciple, roaming spirit-like figures that boost nearby zombies’ abilities and summon more of their kind. Watch out for explosive toxic zombies as well, which emerge from the mansion’s ominous fog.
Season 3 welcomes back the beloved Double Tap perk-a-cola, which players might remember from Black Ops 3. It’s returning with enhancements through the Der Wunderfizz machine. Some augments to unlock include Double Jeopardy, which gives weaker zombies a chance to instantly die upon being shot, and Double Play, which can reward players with two extra rounds after eliminating two foes in quick succession.
For those who love wonder weapons, live your best life with new versions like the Ray Gun Mark II and the lightning-blasting Wunderwaffe DG-2. The Ray Gun now fires in a three-round burst, sporting new variants like SMG-esque bullet trails. Meanwhile, the Wunderwaffe offers chain lightning with potential for extra damage.
Adding a playful twist, new Gobblegums are available, including Tactical Diffusion, which trades Nuke explosions for 2,000 Essence, and Die Pitched, which amusingly raises zombie voices for three minutes. Don’t forget the exciting crafting opportunities; the Death Machine scorestreak can now be created for a small salvage cost.
The suspense grows as the MidSeason update promises to bring even more content, including a Directed Mode for “Shattered Veil” and new features such as the Team Cranked mode and Frost Blast upgrades. For those curious or anxious to test their skills, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is accessible on multiple platforms, with an exciting free trial opening up on April 2 at 9 AM PT for Season 2. Grab your weapons, gather your friends, and prepare for an exciting adventure filled with zombie-chaos!
