Riot Games is gearing up to introduce their latest card game, now officially named Riftbound: League of Legends Trading Card Game. This fresh addition is rooted in the beloved world of Runeterra, the same setting that has enchanted fans through League of Legends and the series Arcane, along with several of Riot’s other tabletop adventures. The game is rolling out with over 300 cards in its first set, called Origins. Players in China will get the first glimpse this summer, with an English-release following on October 25, targeting many countries.
Riftbound offers diverse gameplay options, allowing for one-on-one face-offs, pair battles, or even free-for-all matches. Echoing the style of Legend of Runeterra, expect champions to take center stage as formidable cards around which players can craft their decks. Among the highlights are Champion Decks, which come pre-built with 56 cards centered on figures like Viktor, Jinx, and Lee Sin. Along with these, fans will see appearances from characters such as Annie, Garen, Lux, Master Yi, Volibear, Yasuo, and others. Plus, there are cards showcasing in-game items, runes, spells, and artwork featuring favorites like Kai’Sa and Ahri.
Fans eager to dive into the game can opt for the Riftbound: Proving Grounds starter set, or try their luck with 14-card booster packs. In distributing Riftbound, Riot is collaborating with UVS Games, a well-established name in the trading card game market. This partnership means that if your local gaming store stocks the UniVersus Collectible Card Game—which spans popular franchises like Attack on Titan and Critical Role—there’s a solid chance Riftbound will be available on their shelves as well.
