Next year’s anticipated release of Gen 10 Pokémon games has fans buzzing, especially with whispers that they might be set in Greece. With Greece’s rich mythological backdrop, it’s likely we’ll see some Pokémon designs inspired by these legends, alongside familiar faces getting fresh looks.
One intriguing prospect is Tauros receiving a minotaur-inspired evolution. However, given Tauros’ recent introduction of new regional forms in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, adding another evolution might be overkill. After all, Tauros already has a substantial fan base and made its mark competitively with new forms that brought a lot of attention.
Paldean Tauros variants, each with unique types, have kept players engaged: the regular one from Kanto is Normal-type, while its Paldean versions boast Fighting, Fighting/Fire, and Fighting/Water typing. These additions brought Tauros into the spotlight, especially in competitive play.
The discussion of a Tauros evolution also highlights an imbalance with Miltank, its counterpart in Johto games. Miltank hasn’t seen any new forms or evolutions, despite its popularity and memorable Gym Leader battle in earlier generations.
Additionally, incorporating a minotaur theme for Tauros might limit creativity, likely resulting in a Fighting-type Pokémon, which doesn’t offer much variety beyond its current forms. Although a Greek setting for Gen 10 is still speculative, fans are eagerly awaiting what surprises the next generation will bring.
