The debut trailer for Seth Rogen’s new Apple TV+ series, “The Studio,” has finally dropped, and it’s packed with A-listers seemingly dishing out insults left and right.
To be fair, these barbs aren’t aimed directly at Rogen himself. Instead, the series boasts a star-studded lineup as part of its fictional world. Created by Rogen and his usual partner-in-crime, Evan Goldberg, this 10-episode series features Rogen stepping into the shoes of Matt Remick, who heads the made-up production house, Continental Studios. The plot underlines the grim reality movies face today—their battle for survival and relevance—while Matt and his team of bickering executives tackle self-doubt and entangle with egotistical artists as well as ruthless corporate higher-ups, all in their quest to create cinematic masterpieces.
“Donning their power suits to mask an ever-present panic, every party, set visit, casting decision, marketing chat, and award event lays out a path to either dazzling success or a career-ending disaster. For Matt, movies are a passion that consumes him, but this dream role might just be the end of him,” reveals the official description.
The series has attracted a host of prominent names, including Catherine O’Hara and Kathryn Hahn as part of the main ensemble. Bryan Cranston makes a notable guest appearance, while industry giants like Ron Howard, Martin Scorsese, and Charlize Theron grace the screen as themselves. Even these big names seem to have little respect for Matt, with Scorsese memorably branding him “talentless” and “spineless,” showing the veteran director hasn’t lost his touch in front of the camera either.
The trailer radiates a sense of zany fun, and there’s not much longer to wait. “The Studio” is slated for release on Apple TV+ come March 26 next year.
