Regardless of your feelings about Tenet (2020), you’d have to agree that Robert Pattinson’s enigmatic portrayal of Neil was a standout in the film. The good news for fans is that Pattinson is set to reunite with director Christopher Nolan for another exciting project.
We’re still in the dark about what this new Nolan film is all about—be it centered on vampires or helicopter pilots. Nonetheless, the cast list continues to expand and already includes some major talent, potentially positioning it as one of the most anticipated releases on the horizon. Currently, the cast boasts names like Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, and Zendaya.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, we’ve got confirmation that Robert Pattinson will join this star-studded lineup. While other Hollywood sources only hinted that he was in talks, THR feels confident that he’s officially on board. Their report states, “Sources say that Damon, Holland, Hathaway, and now Pattinson make up the core leads of the feature.”
Nolan is once again taking the reins, writing this new film himself. Universal Pictures has already announced a release date set for July 17, 2026. This timing coincides closely with that of Nolan’s prior success, Oppenheimer, in 2023, which swept seven Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director, and grossed $975 million worldwide. It’s likely that with this next venture, Nolan could revert to creating a ‘pure blockbuster’ while still aiming for the extraordinary twists and innovative storytelling he’s known for.
As for Pattinson, fans can next catch him in Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17. Filmed back in 2022, the movie has experienced several delays and is now scheduled for release on April 18, 2025. Regarding The Batman Part II, production is expected to kick off early next year due to some scheduling challenges, with director Matt Reeves reportedly refining the script.
“In their report, THR mentioned that it seems no one has yet cracked Nolan’s actual concept,” hinting that the essence of Nolan’s upcoming project remains under wraps until an official description is released. Anyone up for a guess on what this could be?
