Yesterday, Sony pulled back the curtain on its PS Plus games lineup for December 2024, tying it in with the 30th anniversary celebrations of PlayStation. However, fans are voicing their disappointment, feeling the selection falls short of expectations. To add to the frustration, one of the highlighted titles this month was already available earlier this year before being removed from PS Plus Extra, leaving many subscribers having recently played it.
This upcoming lineup for December features three games: It Takes Two, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Temtem. It’s worth noting that It Takes Two was previously accessible to PS Plus Extra subscribers until it was pulled from the service earlier in the year.
The real issue, it seems, isn’t necessarily with the games themselves. Browsing through feedback on the PS Blog, various gaming forums, and social media platforms, it’s clear that fans were expecting something more befitting the significance of such a milestone anniversary.
Discontent spills over in comments from subscribers like one who described it as, "the most corporate and uncaring attempt at an anniversary, let alone a 30th anniversary, I have ever witnessed." Another remarked, "I had to break my silence and comment today just to express how disappointing this is." Yet another subscriber echoed the sentiment, stating, “I usually steer clear of complaints on blogs, but this is just bad.”
We’re still awaiting the full reveal of the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for December 2024. Premium members, however, do have something to look forward to—a trio of classic favorites and a game trial are part of the promised offerings.
