Subscribers to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium are in for something special this year. As things currently stand, four exciting games are set to join the service’s Game Catalog perk upon their release. One of the highlights is Remedy Entertainment’s multiplayer first-person shooter, FBC: Firebreak, which has recently announced its anticipated release window for the summer of 2025.
FBC: Firebreak is set in the mysterious and iconic Oldest House, familiar as the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Control from the critically acclaimed game Control. This time around, Remedy Entertainment is shifting its focus from the deep, narrative-driven storytelling it is known for, to a more gameplay-centric approach. Interestingly, they’re aiming to craft a live-service experience without those fear-of-missing-out tactics that most games in this genre tend to use. All game content will be free, inviting players to engage at their own pace, creating a more relaxed and individual gaming experience.
The newly released trailer for FBC: Firebreak showcases the Paper Chase Job, one of the game’s intriguing missions. In this unique task, players of the Firebreak Initiative must deal with a curious infestation of rogue sticky notes within The Oldest House. The video also gives a sneak peek into the various loadouts that players can use in their effort to fend off the ever-looming Hiss threat.
FBC: Firebreak is expected to launch on platforms such as the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via Epic Games Store and Steam when it becomes available.
As mentioned earlier, FBC: Firebreak is just one of the four games debuting in the Game Catalog. Other titles announced include Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, Blue Prince, and Abiotic Factor. PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers can dive into the first part of Lost Records right now, with the second installment scheduled to drop next month.
Furthermore, PS Plus members receive added perks such as early access to the PS Store’s Spring Sale. This grants them an opportunity to snag some fantastic deals on games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, ensuring a gamer’s stash stays fresh and exciting.
