Chipo y Juan, the indie studio, has exciting news. They’ve revealed that their new mixed reality game, Detective VR, inspired by Minority Report, will be making its way to the Quest headset lineup next week.
Dropping on Quest 3 and 3S on February 27th, Detective VR offers an intriguing narrative. The game allows you to manipulate time, collect vital evidence, and speak with witnesses, all within your living room using the Passthrough mode.
Inspired by titles like Return of the Obra Dinn, Immortality, and of course, Minority Report, the developers promise that solving mysteries will be anything but simple. As you weave through mixed and virtual reality, you’ll need to navigate the complexities of unreliable testimonies and challenge suspects.
Exclusively available on the Quest platform, Detective VR is set to deliver an engaging five-hour narrative. You’ll have the ability to rewind, pause, and examine scenes to discover hidden clues, all while interacting with six fully motion-captured and voiced characters.
The cast, featuring talents like Luke Mably, Angus Wright, Melissa Bright, Hannah Wright, David Clark, and Bryony Byrne, boasts experience from popular TV series such as The Crown, Succession, and Doctor Who.
Based in Marseille, France, the creative team behind Detective VR has worked on several VR projects before, including VORTEX VR in 2023, tailored for Quest, in addition to various immersive art exhibition experiences.
Excited players can pre-order Detective VR right now on the Horizon Store for Quest 3 and 3S. It’s available for a pre-order discount at $24, down from its full price of $30.
