We’re just a day away from the next big drop for Diablo 4—patch time! This is the mid-season update for Season 6, which, as you might expect, zeroes in on balancing the game. If you caught last week’s livestream from Blizzard, you’ve already got a taste of the bigger changes coming our way. Now, the developer has laid everything out there with the full change log.
Balance updates may not exactly set your heart racing—after all, the Spiritborn isn’t getting the nerf hammer this time—but there’s more to this patch than meets the eye. Alongside those balance adjustments, we’re getting some bug fixes and some nifty quality of life improvements that are definitely worth a nod of approval.
Set your calendars for Patch 2.0.5, dropping on November 19 across all platforms. It’s a savvy move, timing it right with Diablo 4’s end-of-year festivities. That date also sees the return of the Red-Cloaked Horror event, along with a chance for players without the Vessel of Hatred to try the Spiritborn in action.
But wait, there’s more! Dive back into the game for a welcome back campaign, where you can score a free character boost—one for any current character, or two if you’ve got the expansion. And don’t forget about Mother’s Blessing that kicks off tomorrow too, cranking up your XP and Gold earn rates. Trust me, you’ll want to jump in come November 19th!
Now, let’s chat about the patch highlights. For starters, the Spiritborn’s Soar ability gets a usability boost on controllers. Before, it just kind of shot to the furthest distance, regardless of how you aimed. Now, it gracefully lands right where you target an enemy. Game changer, right?
Another biggie this season is the Party Finder. It’s not without its quirks, but Blizzard’s on it, fine-tuning with each update. This patch brings more than a handful of fixes to text and usability, while also tweaking the UI so the tool stands out a bit more, rather than feeling tucked away.
Expect to see new tooltips and icons springing up in the Party Finder interface to catch your attention. Plus, you can finally list or find the Echo of Hatred boss fight in Party Finder, a welcome change—no more awkward bailing when players discover they couldn’t list it before.
Looking beyond November 19, there’s a new Campfire Chat waiting for us this Thursday, November 21. Blizzard plans to spill the details of the next PTR, patch 2.1, expected to open soon. This PTR is your sneak peek at what we can look forward to in Season 7, slated for a late January release.
