Dragon Age: The Veilguard immerses you in a world where you and a bunch of quirky comrades embark on an epic fantasy adventure. In a similar vein, Baldur’s Gate 3 also thrusts you into the world of fantasy with an ensemble of eccentric allies. Now, thanks to a creative modder, the two gaming experiences can blend slightly as you adorn your Rook with some striking facial tattoos.
Fear not, this shouldn’t be as embarrassing as some of the mods we’ve seen for Solas’ face in DATV. I mean, how bad can it be to have cryptic symbols etched across your forehead that you might not completely understand?
Jumping into action, modder ShadyKnight has taken the initiative to bring BG3’s tattoo collection into the mix, creating a mod called ‘Astarion Would Be Proud.’ “Just as it says on the tin, this mod replaces almost all of the default tattoos with BG3 tattoos,” they announced. “It’s not 100% perfect yet, but I’m satisfied enough to post it.” Well, that sounds promising!
The mod includes all the fan-favorite designs, from whimsical birthday party face paint to mysterious neck scribbles. There’s even some chin art that gives off a vibe of stylishly spilled drink. And let’s not forget three little birds on the cheek—perfect for those who want to pretend they know what a t*ts is. There’s even some clown makeup thrown in for good measure.
No matter which tattoo you choose, it’s sure to be a striking reminder of past escapades in BG3. Picture this: you’re deep in conversation with one of Veilguard’s compelling yet slightly too nice party members. Suddenly, you notice the marking on your Rook’s face, and you’re whisked back to that unforgettable moment when Astarion’s sarcastic comment rubbed you the wrong way mid-flirt, or when Lae’zel went a bit overboard and torched the camp in a fit of battle-induced excitement.
In other Veilguard updates, the game’s third patch has recently dropped. It’s a modest update, focusing on quality-of-life enhancements like tweaks to photo mode and UI, alongside some fixes like smoothing out an odd facial expression Rook makes when first encountering Emmrich.
Honestly, I’m slightly bummed about that last one—it was probably good for a laugh.
