Virtuix has just unveiled an exciting new addition to its Omni One VR treadmill setup: an immersive tourism app that transports you to some of the most renowned destinations on the globe. Scheduled to make its debut on March 6th, the app, aptly named TREKS, seamlessly integrates dynamic video experiences with tangible physical movement, all tailored to take you on a virtual adventure to places like the breathtaking Grand Canyon, the bustling vibe of New York’s Central Park, or the historic corridors of Riyadh’s Fort Masmak.
Brought to you by Virtuix Studios, this app will be exclusively available on the Omni One Game Store for $30. The launch version of TREKS will initially offer four fascinating spots:
- Grand Canyon: Wander along its trails and marvel at the stunning vistas offered by this natural masterpiece.
- Niagara Falls: Witness the awe-inspiring force of the falls from both the American and Canadian perspectives.
- New York City: Explore iconic sites such as the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, and the Brooklyn Bridge.
- Saudi Arabia: Delve into the historical richness of Fort Masmak and enjoy the remarkable design of Al Rajhi Mosque.
Virtuix Studios has exciting plans to expand this lineup with additional destinations in future DLC updates, promising an array of new landmarks, historic venues, and scenic beauties. Interestingly, they also highlight that an hour spent walking in TREKS can burn around 500 calories, combining sightseeing with a healthy dose of exercise.
As Jan Goetgeluk, the CEO of Virtuix, enthusiastically notes, “With TREKS, you’re not just watching these destinations—you’re moving through them. It’s a great way to stay active while exploring some of the world’s most iconic places. Fitness and adventure go hand in hand, and TREKS brings that to life in a whole new way.”
For those intrigued by the Omni One system, the setup is priced at $3,495 and comes with not just the innovative VR treadmill but also a customized Pico 4 Enterprise headset. This headset offers flexibility, supporting native apps through its internal hardware and offering wired or wireless connectivity to a VR-ready PC.
This announcement follows last month’s revelation that the Omni One system can now run over 55 game titles, with exciting additions like Arizona Sunshine Remake, Arizona Sunshine 2, and Into The Radius making the list. Furthermore, Omni One’s all-in-one design is also compatible with SteamVR games, thanks to its Omni Connect PC Driver, which allows users to create custom bindings and tweak settings to enhance games not specifically built for immersive movement experiences.
