HOOP-O Studios, the fresh face in indie gaming, is stepping onto the scene with an exciting announcement. Their newest creation, a mixed reality game called “Alex and the Jets,” is all set to make its grand entrance on Quest 3 next month.
Designed as a casual arcade flying experience, the game puts you in the pilot seat of Alex the Squirrel as you navigate a tiny fixed-wing propeller plane. The excitement kicks up a notch as you face aerial adversaries from the notorious ‘The Jets’ gang, who burst through portals appearing on your walls. Your mission? Take them down while skillfully maneuvering through donut-shaped targets that offer weapon upgrades and health boosts.
But it’s not all about combat. If you’re in the mood for some laid-back flying, the game offers a free roam mode, allowing you to explore your space without the rush of battle. Plus, there’s a local leaderboard to keep track of your progress and a variety of cosmetic options in the store, perfect for decking out Alex in stylish new looks.
What’s particularly intriguing is that the gameplay footage released in their trailer was captured directly on the device using the headset’s camera, which is a promising show of confidence in their tech.
Although “Alex and the Jets” hasn’t pinned down an exact release date, HOOP-O Studios is aiming for an April launch on the Horizon Store, with compatibility for both Quest 3 and Quest 3S.
