Exciting news from Game Source Entertainment and Tokyo Virtual Theory as they reveal that the rhythm roguelike action game Ratatan is on its way to the Nintendo Switch.
Fans of Japan Studio and Pyramid’s much-loved Patapon will be thrilled to hear that Ratatan, considered its spiritual successor, is set in the vibrant world of Rataport. This lively island contrasts sharply with the calmness of the surrounding sea, almost like a playful toy box. It is home to the unique creature Ratatan and its friends, the Cobun.
Although Ratatan and the Cobun come in various shapes and personalities, they are united by a shared dream: venturing to The Everafter to meet The Goddess rumored to reside there. Their determination is unwavering, and they’ll keep striving towards their goal, no matter how often they stumble.
In an exciting twist, Patapon series producer Hiroyuki Kotani is collaborating on the development of this game. Players will step into the role of Ratatan, using magical instruments to command the Cobun armies in rhythm-based battles against foes. Mastering the rhythm sequences will allow players to enter Fever Mode, where the music dynamically changes, and characters unleash special actions.
You can look forward to Ratatan launching digitally worldwide on the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo Switch come 2025.
