A recent post on r/NintendoSwitch2, titled “Tarot Reader predict Switch 2 reveal is imminent,” has garnered quite a bit of attention. According to user Future31, a moderator on Famiboards known as Tangerine_Cookie performed a tarot reading with their deck. Notably, this deck apparently “predicted” the Metroid Prime 4 trailer in last June’s Nintendo Direct, leading to the hopeful conclusion that an unveiling of the Switch 2 is just around the corner.
Of course, it’s understandable to take this with a grain of salt, especially given the swirl of rumors and “leaks” circulating about the Switch 2. But, for those intrigued by the mystical, Future31 shared the three cards drawn for the Nintendo Switch 2 revelation: The Five of Swords (Reversed), the Nine of Pentacles (Reversed), and the Four of Wands. This ensemble of cards is interpreted as indicating “compromise, moving on, openness to change, ending of conflict,” “setbacks, burnout, and undeserved rewards,” and “celebration, prosperity, surprise, earned success, and joy,” respectively.
In Future31’s view, this combination suggests an impending reveal. “These themes indicate that the long wait is coming to an end,” they suggest. “We’re transitioning from speculating about the Switch 2 to actually enjoying it and pondering what comes next.”
They further reflect on the journey, acknowledging, “There have been bumps along the way. The Switch Pro was canceled internally, and this generation has dragged on. The original Switch models are certainly showing their age, and the idea of ‘undeserved rewards’ likely points to Nintendo’s continued sales success despite the lack of new hardware—a situation that perhaps involves Samsung.”
They express optimism about the future, saying, “Soon, we’ll be celebrating the reveal and launch of the Switch 2, anticipating the excitement and surprises its game lineup will bring—success that’s sure to be well-deserved for Nintendo.”
