Capcom has exciting news for fans eagerly awaiting the release of their new action RPG. Scheduled to launch on February 28, 2025, Monster Hunter Wilds will feature enhancements for the PS5 Pro right from day one, receiving a patch to optimize the gaming experience. While Capcom hasn’t shared all the specifics yet, they have outlined the graphics and resolution goals set for the consoles.
In a recent community update leading up to the launch, Capcom confirmed that the standard PS5 version of Monster Hunter Wilds would include options for players to “Prioritize Graphics” or “Prioritize Framerate.” For those who choose to emphasize graphics, they can expect resolutions of 3840 x 2160 or 3072 x 1728 at 30 frames per second. Meanwhile, if you’re looking for smoother gameplay, the “Framerate” mode will deliver 3840 x 2160 or 1920 x 1080 at a smoother 60 frames per second.
Capcom took to social media, specifically on X, to assure players that they have diligently worked on resolving rendering issues that cropped up during the Open Beta Test. They’ve stated that steady advancements are underway as they approach the game’s release.
Many concerns about Monster Hunter Wilds initially arose during its open beta, largely focused on performance issues. The PC version, in particular, suffered from significant problems. Capcom has a history of facing performance-related challenges, as seen in their attempts to refine Dragon’s Dogma 2 for the PS5. The PS5 Pro patch for that title didn’t go as smoothly as hoped, so it’s encouraging that the team is working on the PS5 Pro patch for Monster Hunter Wilds ahead of its release. This foresight should give developers the time they need to iron out any potential issues and ensure a seamless gaming experience.
