Today marks an exciting milestone for the Video Game History Foundation as they unveil their digital library of research materials, now available in early access. This impressive collection kicks off with over 1,500 digitized and text-searchable vintage video game magazines, many of which have been hard to find or hidden from the public eye. Additionally, the library offers never-before-seen development materials, artwork, press kits, and promotional content.
For curious minds and enthusiasts eager to dive into this treasure trove, the library is accessible online at Library.GameHistory.Org.
The launch highlights two standout collections: the Mark Flitman collection and the Cyan collection. Some of you may recall that we had the exclusive opportunity to explore a portion of the Mark Flitman collection for our in-depth projects, such as the 30th anniversary Star Fox documentary and an exploration into Dylan Cuthbert’s Eclipse demo. These were created in collaboration with the Video Game History Foundation. Meanwhile, the Cyan collection is a revelation in its own right, featuring over 100 hours of production footage from the iconic Myst series.
For those interested in discovering the full scope of the library and the Video Game History Foundation’s future plans, further details are available online.
