Nintendo officially announced today that they’ll be holding a special event for gamers tomorrow, April 2, 2025. The Nintendo Direct for the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to last about an hour.
Gamers worldwide can mark their calendars to catch the live presentation at 6 AM Pacific Time, 9 AM Eastern Time, 2 PM British Summer Time, and 3 PM Central European Summer Time.
Excitement has been building since last month when Nintendo at last unveiled the Switch 2, quelling a tide of rumors and leaks about what the follow-up to their popular console might entail.
The brief reveal video provided fans with a glimpse of the new console’s sleek design, hinted at an upcoming Mario Kart title, and confirmed that the new system will maintain backward compatibility with games from the original Switch.
In further details, Nintendo assured players that the Switch 2 will support both physical and digital Switch titles. However, they cautioned that some games may face compatibility issues on the new platform.
While enthusiasts eagerly await this next step in gaming technology, they will have to stay tuned for the official release date, which is expected later in 2025.
