NVIDIA and AMD are gearing up to release their budget-friendly graphics cards in May, aiming to take over the mainstream GPU market.
### New Releases in the Mid-Range GPU Market
Right now, finding affordable new-generation graphics cards can be quite a challenge. NVIDIA has been struggling with low stock, pushing prices well above the recommended levels. On AMD’s side, the high demand for their RX 9070 series has also made it tough to snag one at retail price. However, both companies are set to address this issue soon. According to a report from Benchlife, NVIDIA and AMD are preparing to launch new models next month.
NVIDIA plans to debut the GeForce RTX 5060 on May 19. This card is expected to feature 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, reaching speeds of 28 Gbps over a 128-bit memory bus. Power consumption will see an uptick, with a 35W increase compared to the RTX 4060. Here’s a quick look at what the RTX 5060 will bring to the table:
– 25% more CUDA cores
– Equal memory size
– Faster GDDR7 memory
– 64% more bandwidth
– 30% higher power rating
As for AMD, they’re getting ready to unveil the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex on May 21, although the cards might hit store shelves a bit later in June. This GPU will use the Navi 44 die, featuring a 128-bit bus and available in 8GB and 16GB versions, similar to the NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti. With 2,048 SPs, half of what’s in the RX 9070 XT, and clock speeds of 2620 MHz for gaming and 3230 MHz for boosting, it’s clear that this card is designed to deliver solid performance at 1080p and 2K resolutions.
We’ll be on the ground at Computex 2025 to cover these launches and share some early insights. With both tech giants rolling out new options, the competition in the mid-range GPU market is heating up, making May a month to watch.
