You’ve read that right—the PlayStation Network (PSN) is currently down. That means if you’re trying to get your game on with a PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5, you’ll need to hit pause on those plans for now.
At the moment, the only official word is coming from the Ask PlayStation Japan Twitter account. They’ve shared a message, which, thanks to Twitter’s translation tool, reads something like this:
“At this time, the PlayStation™ Network (including PlayStation® Store) may not be available. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to our customers. We are currently investigating the issue and working to restore service, so please be patient.”
So, in other words, Sony is aware of the situation, but we don’t have any timeline for when things will be back on track. Looks like we just have to hang tight and hope for a speedy recovery. It’s especially tough timing since the Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta is happening right now, leaving PlayStation gamers watching from the sidelines while Xbox and PC players dive in. And even if you’re not exploring Wilds, it’s the weekend—prime time for gaming, especially for those of us with busy weekday lives. Fingers crossed that the network issues will be resolved soon!
