After weeks of discussions about tariffs, Nintendo has finally announced when gamers in the United States can preorder the Switch 2. Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 24, when you’ll be able to secure your console.
Nintendo revealed that the standalone Switch 2 will be priced at $449.99 in the U.S. If you’re interested in the bundle that includes a digital version of Mario Kart World, it will cost $499.99. For now, these prices remain steady.
However, keep in mind that prices for some accessories are on the rise, as Nintendo navigates ongoing market changes. The Switch 2 Pro Controller is now priced at $84.99 USD, which is a $5 increase. Similarly, the Joy-Con pair will now cost $94.99. If you need a second dock set, it will set you back $119.99, an increase of $10. Extra Joy-Con straps have gone up by $1 to $13.99, and several other accessories have also seen a $5 climb in price. A detailed list of hardware prices, along with pricing for games like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, can be found in the accompanying images.
For our neighbors to the north, it appears that Canadian preorders will kick off on the same day. However, since today is a national holiday in Canada, official confirmation might take a bit longer. Despite this, Nintendo of Canada has announced the same preorder date and has shared the Canadian pricing details as well.
