Amidst a wave of criticism, the PS Stars Wallet funds reward is making a comeback for numerous players worldwide, albeit not fully restored yet. Earlier today, players from different corners of the globe reported the re-appearance of the $5 or £5 reward (or its regional equivalent). For some, this seems to be the only denomination available, while others are seeing multiple denominations pop back up.
Members are noticing the return of these funds irrespective of their PS Stars tier or any PS Plus subscription they hold. Many gamers noted the Wallet funds came back after they renewed their PS Plus subscriptions or upgraded to PS Plus Premium. However, it’s important to point out that your PS Plus status or PS Stars level doesn’t influence the availability of the PS Store credit.
Personally, as a PS Stars Level 4 user with just the PS Plus Essential plan, I never lost the £10 Wallet funds reward. Interestingly enough, as of today, the £5 option is back on the menu for me. Other players have confirmed seeing the same reward reappear, despite not holding any active PS Plus membership.
Over the past month, Sony has kept its lips sealed on this issue, leaving players to deal with PS Support, which only provided a series of conflicting—and frankly ridiculous—responses. We’re left in the dark about whether these Wallet funds will completely return or remain partial.
On a brighter note, it seems that Sony has tackled another issue as of today. The previously malfunctioning PS Store video game rewards have been fixed, allowing players to finally use their points to access games that were out of reach until just yesterday.
